a "field" on the river

The area surely puts a spell on those who hesitate long enough to let it penetrate their consciousness.

The video: after you enter the Oasis, the camera pans to the left. The River scenes pan downstream (to the right).

Watermelons

Is it an oxymoron to think of watermelons when there hasn't been rain for awhile until this past day? Anyway, these little fellows (planted by a cute Virginian) are looking pretty good. Let's stay tuned and see them again in a month.
... and the livin' is easy.

Rain showers this morning.

Pop-ups-- could see 'em on the radar (DSL & sa
tellite TV; all the comforts of the big city are here). of course, thunderstorms may knock out DSL for a while

Big down-burst last evening during which time our screech owl kept screeching and the tiki-lamp kept burning brightly.

Thunderstorms rolling in now.
